Unable to compile project after migration to Visual studio 2012. RRS feed

I had Visual studio 2010 installed on my PC and my project was able to compile successfully. But later on, I uninstalled Visual studio 2010 and Installed Visual studio Professional Edition 2012. One of my aspx page fails with following compilation error(s).

    "Cannot convert from 'System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl' to 'System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlTableRow' "

I have few tbody, thread tags there in aspx page which i guess has something to do in VS 2012.

    Please help me on this.

    Download this patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750147

It fixes the issue with <thead> tags inside tables with runat=server.

    Thanks Darrell,

I will give a try for this. Although Visual studio installed it's update as "Visual studio 2012 update 3" and also Windows update installed the .Net framework 4.5 update. But that update did not work.

So I would install the patch mentioned by you.

As Darrell mentioned above, for this issue,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750149 is available for windows 8

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750147 is available for Windows 7 platform, please have a try, and check whether it can fix it,

    Thanks Darrell/Angie,

I installed the update avilable at  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750147 for Windows 7 platform. It worked for me and now I am able to compile it successfully.

But, I am wondering as Visual studio 2012 installed it's "VIsual studio 2012 Update 3" But did not fix this issue although I understand that issue is with .Net Framework 4.5 not with the Visual studio 2012. But i was assuming as update will fix the framework 4.5 issue as well because it's linked to a compilation issue in VS 2012 itself.

Anyways , Thanks for your help as I had to comment some piece of code to make my project compile for a quick fix. Now , it's all set.
