Directories left behind by Xamarin installer RRS feed

I have installed Xamarin in the default location in C:\Program Files on my Windows 7 machine with VS2010 Pro. I have found that the installer created and left behind these directories in the root of D:\ with 37.9MB of files within.

    D:\>dir VS*
Volume in drive D is Data
    Volume Serial Number is D02E-E101

    Directory of D:\

    27/02/2013 10:36 PM <DIR> VS2012_EXTENSIONS_DIR
    27/02/2013 10:31 PM <DIR> VS2012_ITEMTEMPLATES_DIR
    27/02/2013 10:31 PM <DIR> VS2012_PROJECTTEMPLATES_DIR
    27/02/2013 10:31 PM <DIR> VS2012_ROOT_FOLDER
                   0 File(s) 0 bytes
                   4 Dir(s) 1,765,019,426,816 bytes free

Should these directories have been removed by the installer? Especially as I do not have VS2012 installed. And why was the installer writing these to D:\?

Seems like there is a bug in the installer as I have the same issue with VS2010 directories:

    24-02-2013 04:23 <DIR> VS2010_ITEMTEMPLATES_DIR 24-02-2013 04:23 <DIR> VS2010_PROJECTTEMPLATES_DIR 24-02-2013 04:23 <DIR> VS2010_ROOT_FOLDER

I have the same issue with Xamarin.Android 4.0 on my Windows 7.

Seems like those directories are safe to delete, as I have MSVS 2010 add-ins installed correctly:

My case is even more strange. I have VS2010ROOTFOLDER, VS2010PROJECTTEMPLATESDIR, VS2010ITEMTEMPLATESDIR in a secondary drive, but I have Visual Studio 2012 installed. As Bass, all seems being working well after deleting them.
