WDK inspect sample based driver issues with Microsoft cluster service ( MCCS ) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an WFP callout driver based on  WDK inspect sample.

    My reproduction step is :
    1. Start MCCS console on primary or secondary server, and connect to two MCCS agents (Primary and Secondary)
    2. Shut down WFP driver
    3. Start WFP driver
    4. Execute failover service
    5. MCCS console window was disconnected at this time. If WFP driver was not present, the problem will not be noticed.

This is just an typical example

Other example is when WFP driver is installed and started during boot time then one of the services Vmware Afd Service fails to start.

    My question is:

--> Our callout intercepts only TCP ip4 traffic.

--> According to sample each incoming and outgoing connection( at ALE Connect and ALE Auth Recieve layers ) and TCP packets at Transport layer are pended and then reinjected.

--> It is my observation that in case of certain applications as mentioned above the connection is broken and hence these applications fail to work when WFP driver is installed.

Exactly what makes ceratin applications fail
