reducing latency by reducing smoothing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Currently the Kinect sees 30 skeletons/second. Without smoothing, my application is pretty quick, but with the necessary smoothing enabled, there's too much latency (about half a second).

I know how to reduce the number of skeletons that my application looks at (e.g., if you want 15 skeletons/sec, use any skeleton where allSkeletons.frameNumber % 2 == 0), but smoothing is performed before the skeletons are returned, so I'm not gaining any speed. Is there a way to interrupt the the process and change how many skeletons/second are processed with smoothing? Or am I better off writing my own smoothing algorithm that uses unsmoothed skeletons?

    Thanks,

    Michael
