How to merge two calls into one conference? RRS feed

  • Question

  • With UCMA, I can establish a UserEndPoint, and make two calls to different lync user, respectively.

Now, I want to merge the two calls into one conference,

For the first call, I think it is easy, I just following the sequence JoinConference and EscalateToConference, and actually it works fine,

How about the second call? How I can add the second call to current conference?

If I use the same methods like the first call, it doesn't work, and if I invoke transfer member function of the first call's MCU member to transfer the second call to first call's MCU, the second call's remote party does not get the request of Escalating to Conference.

    Any idea about this?

I am working in AudioVideoCall with own MediaProvider. I think it should be same for IM call.

  • First, why not just invite the 2 remote participnats to a conference from the start vs establishing t2 party calls then moving them to a confernece ?

When you're escalating the 2nd call to the conference, pass in the uri to the target conference when you're joining the conference session(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg450506.aspx) This will ensure that both calls end up in the same conference.

Transferring will not trigger an Ecalate To COnference request because it's a trnafer, not a Conference Escalation.
