I try to fix the problem. The error below is embedded on aspx pages that use report viewer web control. Please note that the div element is hidden, and the reportviewer is displaying correct contents.
Div element hidden on aspx page
<div id="ReportViewer1_HttpHandlerMissingErrorMessage" style="border-color:Red;border-width:2px;border-style:Solid;padding:10px;display:none;overflow:auto;font-size:.85em;"> <h2> Report Viewer Configuration Error </h2><p>The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file, or add <add name="ReportViewerWebControlHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> to the system.webServer/handlers section for Internet Information Services 7 or later.</p> </div>
I tried adding the two elements to web.config, but to no avail.
Add below to system.web/httpHandlers <add verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> or add below to system.webServer/handlers for Internet Information Services 7 or later. <add name="ReportViewerWebControlHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" />
The required assemblies below are installed under C:\Windows\assembly folder. I have installed both Microsoft ReportViewer 2010 Redistributable, and 2008 SP1.
Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, version 10 Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common, version 10
Below is the whole web.config:

Any idea?

Hi !!!
I have the same problem for a long time and I can not get out!
the problem is either with report viewer that v10 v11 (visual studio 2013) on a production server with W2008 R2 and IIS7.
The problem is, however, only by publishing on the specific production server.
None of the solutions proposed by Edwin works for me!
Bye
Alessio
