Save Infopath 2007 form to c:\open RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been trying to create a button rule to first save the open InfoPath 2007 form to a standard file location (c:\open), with a standard filename (DRNChangeRequest.xml).  I attempted to do this using a data connection but I get an error back telling me the location does not use the HTTP or HTTPS protocol.  I tried using the VSTA, but I am Visual Basic deficient.  I found some posts about using xDocument.SaveAs, but then I get errors that xDocument isn't registered.  There has to be an easier way to save the form (so I can send via e-mail as an attachment to the form), but I am just hitting the wall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • This isn't typically how InfoPath is used.  Are you using SharePoint at all, or did you publish this to a network drive?

What is the real goal here?  You lost me with the email attachment comment.
