File that is saved from internet causes VSTO not able to load RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am using .net framework 4.0 currently. I had a document level vsto on my machine. All the document on my machine had no issue in running the vsto. But if the document was saved from internet into my local disk. It cannot run vsto, it will say it is not in trusted location. As I understand, local machine zone should be safe to run.

In the end I realised it is because the file was blocked when save from internet. The file properties display "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" along with a unlock button.

After i unlock it, vsto run without any problem. How can my vsto be installed so that I would not have user to press unlock on each document they downloaded?

  • Hi Ken1985,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

Would you please clarify the steps for me to reproduce your issue?

It’s on my understanding that you installed the document-level application at first, then you opened a copy which saved on internet. Is it right?

    Have a good day,
