Prevent client side download of JS and XML. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

    I am having a plain webpage with html and javascript which would read the content from XML to display the content. But the problem is my xml can get update say in some every 30 mins. But when i am refreshing the page with the help of META tag, my javascript would refer old xml which is present there in (Temporaray internet files) folder, and doesn't get new one from the server. Despite of adding below mentioned tags in my HTML caching is not stopped,

    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="no-cache">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="private">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="no-store">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="must-revalidate">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="max-stale=0">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="post-check=0">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="pre-check=0">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma-directive" CONTENT="no-cache">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Directive" CONTENT="no-cache">
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1">
        <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="12;url='http://abc.html'">

    I also tried passing query string parameter to my xml everytime it is being called from javascript. But this creates multiple instances of my xml everytime page is refreshed at client side in TIF folder. What i would like to try is, if my xml doesn't get downloaded on the client side itself or older ones are deleted some how.
