How to build a setup for own ribbon system RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

i write my own Ribbon for Outoolk 2010 / 2007...

Now after i finishing i will bring the Ribbon or Addin to a other Windows System.

Normaly i can build a setup for my normal windows programs eg. WPF etc.

But i found no way for Ribbons or Addins.

How can i bring my own Ribbons and Addins on a other Windows System?

  • There is plentiful information about deploying outlook add-ins here:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff937654.aspx

(generally: create setup project, add project output from your add-in project, vsto file, create proper registry entries in setup project)

  • If the question is whether or not you can use the ribbon outside of an Office COM addin, the answer is yes. There are various sets of 3rd party controls that implement the ribbon look and feel. There's also an MS paper on how to use ribbon interfaces that you can license, with the requirements you need to fulfill.
