Setting Default Font for Return Address RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using MS-Word 2010, I am trying to set the default font for the return address on an envelope.  It comes up as "+Headings".  I select Calibri, and then click on "Set as Default".  When I restart Word, the font is back to "+Heading".  Is there a fix for this?

  • I've tried numerous times and that doesn't seem to persist it.  When I re-open Word, my changes are gone.  I noticed that the Date Modified for the Normal.dotm file hasn't changed.

In that case, something is preventing you from saving the Normal template. Usually, the culprit is some poorly designed add-in, which you will have to troubleshoot separately. In the meantime, you can use the following workaround: From within Word, press Alt+F11. In the Visual Basic Editor, press Ctrl+G to activate the Immediate window. Type

    NormalTemplate.OpenAsDocument

and press Enter. Normal.dotm opens in its own window (and you should now close the Visual Basic Editor). Change the style as discussed previously. Then save and close Normal.
