  • Can any of these DBs be mirrored?  (sql 2008)

    master

    msdb

    RerportingServer

    As per mirroring prerequisite only user databases can be mirrored no system DB are allowed in mirroring.

    Mirroring Not allwed -  Master, MSDB

    Mirroring Allowed - ReportingServer

  • Hi, the system databases cannot be mirrored. I can't find that stated in the official documentation in a quick search, but here is a blog walking through mirroring, where it is stated regarding the system DBs.

    For Reporting Services, starting in SQL Server 2008, it can be mirrored. Here is a case study showing how to set it up:

    You can do mirroring on system database.Why you want to system database for login and jobs.
