SQL Server 2017 MDS Add-in for Excel - Installation Error

Hi,

Tried installing the MDS add-in for excel and receive the same error message on several machines.

Tried Windows 8.1, 10, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016 all with the same below error message, any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I have also noticed this problem and the solution is to first install the MDS Excel plugin for SQL Server 2016 and after that run the 2017 installation. The 2017 will then upgrade the 2016 plugin to 2017.

Hi,

"Install 2016 version before" ? 

My customer is currently trying MDS and this solution is not acceptable.

Microsoft should update the MDS 2017 addin setup as soon as possible!
