Registering a Project Template in the Registry RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

How Do I register a Project Template in the registry. I tried this example

but I don't see the Project GUID in the registery after Successfully building the project.

Is there any other way for registering the project template.

    My Solution includes

ClassLibrary for implementing the IWizard interface

    VS 2010 C#Project Template

VSPackage for holding the Project Template and Class Library

I have sub project Templates that I want to invoke from the Wizard by using the parent project Template

Wizard will be invoke from the Parent Project template(VS 2010 C#Project Template)

Choice Project 1, Choice Project 2,  Choice Project 3,  Choice Project 4, (Under VS Package Project)

On Submit I will get the choice and can successfull generate the projects.

Problem is I need to have those Templates files in the Package(Project1, 2, 3, 4). VSPackage is not including those all templates files except the Wizard Class Library and Parent Project Template

please let me know how can I include those templates files in my Package

  • Hi Mohi,

    Thanks for your post.

Which location did you look for the project template from registry?

The tutorial you provided is for VS2008 and in VS2010 you can try this location instead:

You can download my simpleproject and projectbase.

To include several templates in one package, I've checked the sample Ironpython,

I think you can set the build action of all the template files to "ZipProject".

If I misunderstand your issue, be free to let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Ziwei Chen
