Unable to invoke a Activex DLL after installation in VISTA through IE. RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Hi

         I have created a COM Activex control which gets installed to client machine through IE. (<OBJECT Tag> ).

        After installation and selfregistration of the dll is done,   IE invoked the Dll class object and invoked some methods.

       It was working fine in Win XP for me.But when i am testing on Win Vista and all the required software like .NET framework 2.0 ,HotFix etc.

    But after installation of activex  is done and when IE creates the Object of the class registred through Javascript

    as var x=new ActivexObject('MyNamespace.MyClass');

    Its giving me Exception as follows:

    Access is Denied Exception from HRESULT:0X800700005 (E-ACCESSDENIED)

    I reffered  MSDN  for the same issue where experts told to do some changes in the DCOMCNFG .

    I also did it but it didn't work. and i am only the administrator user for this Vista machine.

    Can anybody give me any clear picture what is the main resason for the exception and what is its remedy.

    [sorry for my bad english]
