Symmetric Key RRS feed

  • Question

  • When you have a Symmetric Key within the SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) project, the publish script always drops & recreates the Symmetric Keys.  The end result is the decryption is basically destroyed.

Is there a way to fix this or is this a known bug?

    Thanks

  • That is not what I am seeing, how are you defining and using the symmetric key? Which objects depend on the symmetric key?

What is in the deployment script? If you schema compare what does that state the difference between the source and the target is?
