Microsoft .NET framework 3.0/3.5 WON'T INSTALL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Now I'm just ticked.

I seriously need to install Sony Vegas again, but it needs Framework 3.0. Vegas apparently couldn't install it, so I decided to install it myself. But no matter what, MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK JUST WON'T INSTALL. I've spend god-knows how many hours trying to get this right: I've uninstalled my old 1.1, and installed a new one again(worked just fine), but nothing beyond 1.1 wants to install! (I've even tried 2.0, still won't install either.)

Here's the error log for my failed attempt at installing 3.0:[07/01/10,20:52:33] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. MSI returned error code 1603

Also, and this is probably important, but I had to reboot my computer twice, (First time was because it just decided to stop working, and second time because it got hit by a nasty virus.) hence why I need to re-install vegas. I had Vegas working just peachy a while back, so I assume I was able to get .NET framework on this computer just fine.

By the way, I know absolutely nothing about this .NET stuff, except I need it to run vegas. I'm probably missing something here.

Also, I have a 32 bit windows XP
