Best Practice for username on new PC for existing domain user RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am replacing a Windows 7 Pro PC with a Windows 10 Pro PC for a SBS 2011 Essentials domain user (Joe), who's domain username is "Joe" (logon: SBS\Joe). The Windows 10 Pro PC is brand new, and has a fresh OS.

What is the best practice for the username that is created during the first boot of the new OS? Can I use "Joe", or is this not recommended? Also, should this be a "Local" account, "Microsoft" account, or am I able to directly use the "domain" account at the first boot without running the Connector first?
