WI-FI not asking for Key

    Question

  • the //Build Samsung slate doesnt ask for the security key of a Wi-FI

Perhaps there was a connection before to Wi-FI with same name but diffrent key- Can be that the reason- Is somewhere a list of stored WiFI profiles?

  • Hannes,

Try deleting the WLAN profile using the netsh command from an elevated command prompt:

netsh wlan show profile   -- to get a list of the profiles that are currently present.

netsh wlan delete profile <profile_name>  -- where <profile_name> is the name of the profile you want to delete.

Once you've done that try reconnecting to the WLAN again and reply with the results.

    Thanks

  • Hannes,

Is this happening for just the one Wi-Fi network, or all that you attempt to connect to?

  • Hannes,

Some Wireless Access Points are configured to only require a key to connect.  Can you verify that the WAP in question is asking for just a key or username and password to connect from a previous Windows version?

    thanks,
