  • Hi,

In my work as BI Developer (managing SSRS) I didn't found any needs to work with IIS.

and any other tasks that I did related to DBA (performance auditing, installation, security, backup and restore, SSIS, and so on) there is no need for IIS.

    * Remember DBA sometimes work with many different things (networks and other technology) to troubleshoot and guarantee that the system is operate. (even if this task is not related to DBAs) Please when you are free read about any thing it doesn't hurt.

    I hope this is helpful.

  • Hello,

If you work on an organization that still uses SQL Server 2005, you may have to know how to install IIS to be able to install Reporting Services.

You may also have to know which operating system has Windows Authentication on the IIS and allows Reprting Services to be installed.

    Hope this helps.
