  • Well... i think you can just store the Joint vectors in any data structure you want and then check that "old" positions with the "current" positions... you would need some tollerance too

but... I'm just guessing, isn't your real objective to create gestures?

  • Not rly.

I want to have for example 10 specific gestures/positions. Maybe I`ll show it on example.

I have a gesture "salut" where the user have to put his right hand to the head. I want to "hard code" the gesture/position/stance and tell user to make a salut. Then the applications says is this a correct salut or not. For example if he do this with his left hand it`s wrong.

This is what I want to achive

  • Understood,

so what you want to do are "gestures".

Sadly I can't help you with that =)

But with some math you can check many things... like if the hand is over the head joint and stuff like that.

You should search on google because I think that someone made something that you might need, that is a program that records the gestures... but I can't recall the link now.

  • Have you had a chance to look at some of the other discussion on gestures in the forums?

There are also sample applications available from Coding4Fun:

  • Hi Fixus,

I think you have to look at this for your gesture requirement.

    http://kinectdtw.codeplex.com/

This framework helps to record your own gestures, writes to a file and once you load the file it will recognize the gestures performed.

    Hope this helps !!!

    Thanks,

    Bharat.

  • Can I know which version of SDK are you using?

The Kinect DTW app uses earlier version of SDK (betav1.0). With the new SDK Versions you need to do some minor modifications wrt kinect initialization to make the app work.

    Thanks,

    Bharat.

  • I`m using the latest version and I know that I need to make modifications. I`m trying to do them but they`re not minor, at least for me. Hope I`ll get to it. Maybe you have working version ?
