  • You was not very detailed with your question. Regarding the link you posted (Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Standalone Installer)) I'd assume you have problems installing .NET4.

    This forum is for questions regarding VC++ development, not .NET setup issues.

    I'd say you should ask here your question, but please with more details:

  • Hi,

    According to your description, it seems that your thread is about .Net framework installation. So I will move it to the correct forum for better support. Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Rob

  • Bordon's comments on lack of pertinent information in your post are correct.

    To provide potential responders with the information needed, please do the following:

    Collect the install logs with this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=it&id=12493

    After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like SkyDrive, then post the link here.

  • Hi Trainman,

    I'm posting to follow up your issue, has it resolved?

    If you are trying to install .NET Framework 4 on Windows 7, please follow the steps below:

    1. Turn off your anti-virus/antispyware software during installation;
    2. Install the latest Windows updates from the Windows Update site: http://update.microsoft.com;
    3. Complete or dismiss Windows Update before installation. (And don't forget to turn it on later);
    4. Clean your %temp% folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp% >> OK);
    5. Run the standalone installer with Adminsitrator privilege: right-click the installer -> Run as administrator

    If the installation still fail, like pvdg42 said, we'll need obtain the installation logs to analyze the cause of this issue. Would you please help to collect the logs with the Log Collection Tool?

    I'm waiting to hear from you about the status of this issue.

    Best Regards,

    Andrew,
    Below is the program I'm trying to execute and the error from that program.
    Attached is a photo of my screen showing the Microsoft Download Manager failure report and the expanded detail report showing the error as 80072ee7. This error code is new to me. I seem to be able to download and install the C++ 2005 but it will not open and run for some reason. I ran your error collection tool and I see no results on my end. I trust you received the report of its findings.

  • The link to your logs does not work. I takes me to some sort of Google email page.

    What is ME-PC? A Google search turns up nothing.

    Is your Windows 7 32 or 64 bit?

    The log excerpt you provide indicates an issue with VC++ 2005 redistributable. You can download it yourself try a manual install:

  • Hi Trainman,

    We have not heard from you in a couple of days. Would you mind letting me know the result of the suggestions? If the problem still exists, would you please upload the vslogs.cab file online, and paste the URL link here? In this way, we can access your installation logs and help to analyze your problem.
