Touch Screen detection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a function or way to detect if a user has a touch screen within Silverlight 4. I would like to programatically detect this so that I can display different options to the user based on whether he or she has a touch screen or not. Any help would be great, thanks!

  • Not sure if there is a way to determine whether the user has a touch screen.  Silverlight's Touch functionality is pretty basic in its current stage.  This would be a great feature to have.  You can develop the Touch and mouse events in your application in case that they do have a touch screen.

  • Gotcha, I was hoping that I would be able to prompt the user if touch was detected, but I guess I'll have to write code for both cases. Thanks for the input!
