Windows 8 ARM build RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I want to build applications on Windows8 for win32, x64 and ARM. The build is successful for win32 and x64 but i getting linking errors for ARM build which are

1 error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'shlwapi.lib'

2 error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'Iphlpapi.lib'

I am finding these lib files in path

    C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\8.0\Lib\win8\um\x86 and

    C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\8.0\Lib\win8\um\x64

but not in ARM folder .

I am using Visual Studio 11

Please help me from where will i get these libs for ARM build or suggest any workaround for the same

  • What functions are you trying to import from these libraries? I suspect that there aren't any functions in them that are applicable for Metro style apps.

  • Hi

    I'm also getting the error

error LNK1104: cannot open file 'shlwapi.lib'

All I've done is reference xmllite.lib (which is in the ARM SDK folder, I've checked).

It builds on x86 mode but not on ARM mode. Literally my project is doing nothing at the moment.

    Any thoughts??

Ignore what I'd said...I was trying to include atlbase.h which must be the reason for the shlwapi.lib dependency (unavailable for ARM).

    xmllite.lib is compatible with ARM.
