MS Server 2005, MS SQL server,  using IIS, using port redirection through no-ip.com

    VS studio 2005

    install the club.vsi no problem.

    ran aspnet_regsql.exe no problem

create new club site project, no problem

PROBLEM: project opens in visual studio fine, however when I hit ctrl-f5 to 'automatically generate the site's predefined roles', I recieve a http 400 "webpage can not be found' error.

If I open browser (IE7) and browse to http://beta.flysniper.com, the website comes up to the into page.

I don't know how to proceed.

    TIA,

    Mike

    Additional symptoms:

Open the project in VS, open the ASP.net Web site administration tool (opens fine), click on the security tab and I get the following error: "There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store.

The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) "

click on the Choose data Store button as instructed, "Your application is currently configured to use the provider: AspNetSqlProvider"

I click on the 'select sing provider for all site management data', screen shows the 'aspNetSqlProvider' as the only option, click on the test link and I get the following message: "Could not establish a connection to the database.
If you have not yet created the SQL Server database, exit the Web Site Administration tool, use the aspnet_regsql command-line utility to create and configure the database, and then return to this tool to set the provider."

This would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with the SQL side of things but everything LOOKS ok.  If I use sql management tool, I can see that the aspnet_regsql.exe tool did create the profile tables.

my resolution was to give up.............

moved website to a non-port forwarding environment.

Not sure that the port forwarding had an affect but couldn't seem to find an answer......
