This managed code project contains the KinectSensorChooser reusable component.
    1. This component helps an application manage the lifetime of the Kinect sensor.
    2. The KinectSensorChooser class is a UI agnostics component.
    3. KinectSensorChooserUI, also available in this component, is a WPF control that provides ready to use UI.

The chooser will create and provide your code an instance of the KinectSensor object. If you do not wish to use the control, you can create and manage the KinectSensor object yourself.

  • Hi Carmine Si,

Thank you thank you for replying. So is there anyway that i can do it like automatically pause the application while the user is not interact with the KinectRegion? Example like the Dance Central, when the user is out of the screen, the game automatically pause.
KinectRegion seems to only work with KinectSensorChooser, am I right ?

  • Yes, there are techniques you can employ to do something like that. You may want to look at the Interaction Gallery-WPF sample as an example.

If you are writing your application in WPF, you can certainly leverage the controls, but you should be familiar with WPF to be effective. You don't have to use the Chooser, but might be best to make it simpler and follows a best practice.
