consuming wcf MSMQ service in windows store app

    Question

  • Hi All,

I want to consume a wcf msmq service in windows store app. i'm new to msmq, on windows RT I don't see client msmq feature to enable.

the above is the snapshot of windows features, this is see in x86 and x64 windows but not in windows RT devices
i'm not sure if msmq feature needs to be enabled on client systems also in order to establish a reliable communication

So, does windows store app support message queues.

Plz put some light on this and let me know if i'm not comprehensive

    Eagerly waiting for the response.

    thanks

  • The easiest way is probably to add an endpoint for your WCF service that uses HTTP or TCP, which are the only WCF bindings supported in a Windows Store app.

Alternatively you can front-end your existing service with a new HTTP SOAP or REST web service or WCF TCP service.

If your WCF service is using the msmqIntegrationBinding, then you may be able to send a message directly to MSMQ if you configure MSMQ Http Support, described here, although I've never tried.
