Unable to activate TFS 2013 update 4 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are setting up new TFS server version 2013 update 4. But when i tried installing it hasn't asked me to enter the license key.

Even in TFS admin console i am not able to see the option to activate it. It is by default showing License type as MSDN.

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    Rajesh

  • hi Rajesh

where did you download the installation program from?

if you downloaded it from MSDN subscriber download the product key is included and you don't need to activate it.

if you download it from the normal Microsoft download site than it will display License Type = Trial and you need to enter the product key to change the license type.

  • Hi!

This may require to install a commercial tfs: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44911

But you may try to use TFSConfig:

    TFSConfig License /ProductKey:abcde-fghij-klmno-pqrst-uvwxy

  • Hi Daniel,

We have downloaded from MSDN subscriber.

Even in earlier we downloaded from MSDN subscriber download, then it is given option to enter product key.

    Thanks,

    Rajesh

    hi Rajesh

I've never seen it in the last few official release of TFS & Updates.

Maybe you've used a RC version which used a trial license and ask for a product key.
