I have a asmx web services that is deployed on IIS 5.1. I have enabled Aninymous access and provided an account used for Anonymous access. I also checked Integrated windows authentication.

When I consume this web service from a .NET client then I require to set UseDefaultCredentials  as true to get it working else it throws Acccess denied error.

I dont want to set this property before consuming this service. What kind of configuration I require.

    Thanks in advance.

There are many aspects of web service security. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4783658/asmx-web-service-to-allow-anonymous-access for an example on how to solve it:

    • Allow anonymous acces on your IIS site (instead of "integrated security" => this is pure windows authentication
    • Make sure the ASP.NET working process user has access (read/execute) on the folder the website is located
    • Make sure the web.config does not block anoymous access to your service (deny=none or allow=*)

Furthermore, I'd avoid using asmx services in favor of WCF services. Much more security options are available in WCF.
