Single click to open files and folders in Explorer?

    Question

  • Hi,

I have an ASUS EP121 and under Window 7 on this device I changed the explorer options so that a single click was all that was required to open a file or folder - this feels to me a much more natural way to interact with the file system using touch rather than having to double tap with your finger.

I cannot find the equivalent setting in Windows 8. Is this at all possible?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

  • If you click on the File menu in Windows Explorer and choose Change folder and search options, you reach the well-known folder options dialog where you set the single click behaviour. I presume that it would then work as you expect.

  • Thank you! - Even though I've been using Office 2010 for a year I totally missed the file menu, hadn't even noticed it was there! - DOH!
