    Hi.

My company is developing a mobile phone banking system and obviously we would like our code to be as backwards-compatible (in terms of mobile handsets) as possible.
Could anyone give me some idea as to the backwards compatibility of mobile ASP.Net code? We are expecting users to be using a range of handsets, from old black-and-white cellphones utlizing WAP 1.0 browsers all the way up to newer smartphones etc. Has anybody experienced any issues using the newest ASP mobile controls on older devices?

     Thank You

ASP.NET has no problems but devices are usually problematic, specially older ones. If you want best support for devices I suugest you to use WURFL open-source libraries with ASP.NET mobile support. The best thing you can do is to write your own BrowserCapabilities class that uses WURFL. This way you can easily control output and make fixes for devices with known problems.

I recommend you Marg.Wurfl, this lib uses wurfl library and it renders web pages (WML, XHTML Mobile, etc) depending on capabilities.
