Running a WPF windows app from VS 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am on a 64 bit XP, sp2 machine.  I created my first WPF (for Windows) app with nothing in it (no controls).  I simply gave a background color to the form.  I then compiled it..no errors, then ran it (F5); the screen started flashing (blank to garbage...again and again).  I had to power the computer off to get out of this cycle.  This happens consistently.  I can't get a WPF app to run in VS 2008.  If I run the exe itself, the screen goes blank for a second then the exe runs ok.  When I switch back to the VS 2008 IDE, the screen goes blank again for about a second then we are back to normal.  I need to be able to test my development without having to compile and then run from outside of the IDE.  Please help.

  • I think that there are many possibilities may caused the problem. For example, video card, DirectX, Windows or .NET Framework installations. You can read the following link which contains some information about WPF prerequisites.
