Is anyine happy with Windows 8 develpment? RRS feed

I do not like the new paradigm Windows is exploring. Why do I now need multiple clicks to accomplish simple tasks? Mousing over the start icon is a crap shoot as to what I will get. I have to do it multiple times to get the search pop up. Finding files and program sis a chore. I had to restore to an earlier date and lost my desktop and a bunch of programs. My optical drive quit working, and my printer cannot load a working driver.

What a POS. I have to do a clean reinstall of win 7 just to get of this pig.

I lost my dual LINUX boot and Bing has taken over Firefox....

Can't see how they will fix this dog....

  • I'm loving it. I am running W8 developer preview as my main OS. It's really been great with my desktop and tablet syncing together using my live account.

I think the idea here is you have to accept change. Take in to account what's changing and why it's changing. Once you accept it and learn it's really a great start.

  • I find it very easy to use the search especially when I have my tablet on my keyboard.  If I'm in metro and I need to search for "movie",  I would just type "movie" as I'm looking at live tiles.  The search function instantly comes out on the right side and I can even choose whether IE or other apps such as Flickr if I'm looking for pictures.   5 keystrokes and 1 left click, done.  Simple.
