Blend 4, sketchflow Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have searched the forums but haven't found any other postings.

When I "Run Project" or "Build Project" I get the following error in the results tab:

Unable to copy file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK's\Expression\Blend\Silverlight\v4.0\Prototyping\Librairies\en \Microsoft.Expression.Prototyping.Runtime.resources.dll" to "..\Bin\Debug\en \Microsoft.Expression.Prototyping.Runtime.resources.dll". The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.

Also it seems to go through every language in one compile execution and results with the same error...  replacing en above with de, es, it, ja, ko, zh-Hans, zh-Hant.

I have verified the existence of the DLL files at the above location.

This is my first experience with the Expression suite, so I am not sure if I missed something during the installation of Expression Studio 4 Ultimate.

    Thank you.

  • As the error message says, your path is too long. What is the path for your project? I suspect you have a long username + a couple of nested folders.  Try moving it to a less lengthy path and it should work.

  • Thank you... that did fix it.  I was going through the tutorials available from the Microsoft site (Nice introduction) and did indeed nest the files it provided in my documents to the order of ...\My Documents\Expression\Module01_Photos_AssetsGuideVideos\Module01_Photos_Assets\Lesson01_Assets_Photos\creating_navigation_componentscreens\slideshow

Thank you again for the quick reply.
