SQL 2008 R2 need add AD account RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I had one SQL 2008 r2 server used to host database one of corporate application.   SQL server is configured in Mixed mode & under secuirty group will find only two users one is sa & other application database user account ( has only public access).  No there sysadmin account present. sa account is locked out.

Since I needed upgrade this application which require DBA account during the configuration.  Unforuturntly the person has sa password has left now and we can`t  change application databse user rights or create new account.  also can`t unlock sa account  using application database user account.

I had tried  put in single user mode & login with local administrator account  as well to change login mode to windows aunthicate mode . but doesn`t worked.

how can login with local administrator account or unlock sa account  or increase right application database user account .

    Urgent help required

    Thanks

    ND

  • Your attempt to login as a local administrator while in single-user mode should work. Books Online: Troubleshooting: Connecting to SQL Server When System Administrators Are Locked Out Why did that fail? Did you stop the SQL Server Agent so that the agent didn't grab the single available user login? What error was returned? If you read the SQL Server error log with a text editor does it provide a better error message?
