SharePoint App - Safari Support RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I see the app validation policies in section 4.12 of the validation guidelines no longer make reference to Safari as a supported browser for SharePoint apps, but do for Excel Web Apps. Can someone from MS confirm that Safari is in no longer a required supported browser (I believe it was during the earlier releases) and that any SharePoint apps submitted for validation will not be tested against it?

    Thanks Alex

Apps for SharePoint must be fully functional with Windows 7, Windows 8, Internet Explorer 9 and 10, and the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.

    • If your app for SharePoint is not compatible with Internet Explorer 8, you must specify this in your app description.

    • Apps for Office must be fully functional with Windows 7, Windows 8, Internet Explorer 9 and 10, and the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.

    • Apps for Office running on Excel Web App 2013 must be fully functional with Internet Explorer 9 and 10, and the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

    • Apps for Office running on Outlook Web App 2013 must be fully functional with Internet Explorer 9 and 10, and the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox

  • Hi- what version(s) of IE 9? Our app works perfectly fine on the latest IE9 version 9.0.21 but file upload does not work on IE9 9.0.12.
