Is there a difference bt Integrated Security = True and Integrated Security = SSPI??

    Question

  • Is there a difference between Integrated Security = True and Integrated Security = SSPI when used in the connection string. I could sense some difference between them throug i went through some document which says there is no difference.

With the setting "Server=MyServer;Database=Pubs;Integrated Security=True" the following error is reported

"SQL server does not exist or Access Denied".

But when the Integrated Security is set SSPI connection was successful

Can anyone please examine the difference between the two?

  • AFAIK, True is only valid if you're using the .NET SqlClient library. It isn't valid when using OLEDB.
