Notification Services in Sql Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Want to use Notification services in Sql Server 2008.
I have read some post and found that it is not supported in Sql Server 2008.

The problem scenario in my application is:

Whenever a table say employee table gets updated in database, i want my asp.net application cache to get invalidate and on remove callback event it should again fetch from database and reload the cache. This should continue till my application is on.

I have decided to use Query Notifications for this but now sql sever 2008 does not support notification services then
how can i acheive this functionality?

    Please do reply.

  • Query Notifications is the right mechansim to use for this kind of system.    Notification Services wasn't inteneded to keep applications in synch of immediate changes... so you're on the right track regardless.

    Hope that helps,
