Metro File Search?

    Question

  • In Metro I can do a search and the Apps and Settings results display to the left of the search panel but not the results for files. It indicates how many file matches there are but nothing shows up to the left. Anyone else have this problem? Cheers.

  • If you click on Files below the search box they should then show up on the left side of the screen.

  • Hi Timbux,

I've just come here to say exactly the same thing, myself and a friend have both installed Windows 8 developer preview and we have the same issue.  We search for a file, it lists the number of files that match but when you click on the Files option it doesn't show any files.  However when you access files via a program i.e. Tweetarama, files are found instantly.

Any help with this would be great.

  • Could Always be a bug, maybe report it using the feedback tool?

  • Thanks for the reply. Tried that and it didn't work, so maybe someone will come up with a solution. It actually worked once and then nothing. Cheers.

  • I like the new Metro search but have to search for individual files in the classic Explorer for now. Cheers.
