Is there an alternate (faster) option for PivotTable.GetPivotData Method? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've a Excel (vsto) COM AddIn and use Pivot Table extensively for reporting and in some cases we disable EnableDataValueEditing to allow edits in the data area. We use PivotTable.GetPivotData quite often for finding the cell address of an intersection in the Pivot Table to explicitly do some styling or overwrite the summary value of an intersection because we have some custom summary functions that is not supported by Pivot Table.

The performance of PivotTable.GetPivotData seems to be around 6000 lookups in a sec.

Are there better ways (performance wise) to look up cell address of a pivot table intersection?

    Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no such API we can get the address from PivotTable. However, we are able to get the value from a PivotTable via PivotTable.GetData.

Also you can get more detail about the PivotTable from link below:

It's recommended to download and install Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office programs.
