Question

Anytime I try to reinstall .Net Framework it errors and anytime I try to run several programs I get this error Please set registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\InstallRoot to point to the .NETFrame work install location. I have no idea what this means or how to fix this issue. It went from working fine one day to not working atll now.Thursday, May 29, 2008 4:48 AM

Hi
You can use the .NET Framework uninstall CleanUp tool to completely remove it from your machine http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip. To answer your first question about the Registry keys issues, please follow the steps listed out in http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/09/04/739820.aspx to repair file and registry permissions.

1) Scan your system for any viruses.
2) Have you tried to reinstall the .NET Framework? if so, what happens?

I've scanned for viruses and none were found in any files on my pc. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall .Net Framework and when I do I get Error 25007. Error occurred while initalizing fusion. Setup could not load fusion with LoadLibraryShim(). Error: 0x80131702. When I get this error, it gives me the choice to retry, which never works or cancel with uninstalls the program. Occasionally it will install fully, but most of the time after I try to install it I get that Error message, but either way even if it does manage to install I still get the .NET Framwork Initialization Error.
