Project start date RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Projectstartdate field of MSP_epmproject_userview  gives me the date which we created the project , if we change the project start date in schedule page then also it reflects project creation date.

    Can any body let me know if project start is different than the  project creation date in project server than how we should pick that for our reporting purpose/ and logic building.

    Thanks

    Vinay

  • Hi Vinay,

    Yes those dates are different. the creation date is for administration only. The real project start (and end) dates can be retrieved from the summary task.

    SELECT
       [TaskStartDate]
       ,[TaskFinishDate]
     FROM [ProjectServer_Reporting].[dbo].[MSP_EpmTask]
     WHERE
       [TaskOutlineLevel] = 0
      AND
       [ProjectUID]='<your project UID>'
