  • Your question is pretty terse, but let me try and address it.  Silverlight is not *just* about GUI but creating good looking GUI's is part of it. Its an application framework, not just UI. It is a great platform for people with existing .NET skills and had a great stack for retrieving data across the Internet and great data binding data for building data driven web applications (not necessarily web sites).

    Absolute not only abt GUI,

I can give you a little example.

I have created a Silverlight app and submitted to community gallery which is typing speed test. This Silverlight application shows how an algorithm runs on a client machine.

    Check Typing Speed Test: http://www.dsebd.somee.com/typetest.aspx

Now think you need to write huge logic on client side. In current technology you need to write Java Script! Or other script for client machine but in Silverlight you can do it using .Net code (WOW!).

This is one example, there is lots of games that can be develop using Silverlight.

Currently I am developing an AI game using Silverlight application, why I am developing this AI game (previously I developed it using java J2SE desktop application)? Coz it is very easy in Silverlight (Both GUI and write logic that will be executed on client machine).
