How to register for sellerdashboard.microsoft.com with tax RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a problem with https://sellerdashboard.microsoft.com/. I registered and I´m able to submit apps in the Office shop - for non free apps. I want to complete my account with bank Information.

As non US-citizen I got a tax form in that process. I´m really not sure if that form is appropriate for me and my company and what to fill in there.

Anyway, I could not complete that step, so the portal now says:

    TAX PROFILE PENDING
You will not be able to submit apps until this information has been validated.

Ok. HOW can I do this? Do I - as company in the EU - really need this W8-IMY form? What to fill out there??

A lot of questions - Pls. help!

    Thx!

    best regards, Toni

Answers

  • Hello Toni,

The tax profile in your Seller Dashboard will show as pending when a form has been saved, but has not been submitted. To go back into your tax profile information, log into your Seller Dashboard and click the ACCOUNT heading toward the top of the page. Next click payout & tax and then click EDIT under tax information.

A tax form (either a type of W9 or W8) will need to be completed before you can submit a non-free app for validation. The type of form that is used will depend on the country that you are registered under and possible the way that your business is setup.

If you are unsure if the W8-IMY form is the proper form, you may want to reach out to a tax professional to ask them to evaluate which form would be correct. Also you could try reaching out to tax experts that can be reached through the IRS website that is linked below:

You will need to consult with either a tax professional or tax expert to seek assistance with completing the applicable tax form with the proper information for your account.

You may also want to review the two links below for additional clarification on the tax profile submission process within the Seller Dashboard:

I hope this information helps you to complete the tax profile submission of your Seller Dashboard account. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hi Toni,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum.

Since your major concern is about publishing app, I'll move your thread to Publish Apps for Office forum for better support.

    Thank you for your understanding.
