Can a TechNet Subscription help me?

Question

Hello,

I am a student at Wichita Technical Institute IT program. We are earning our Comptia A+, Net+, Security+/CWNA, Linux+, Windows 7 MCTS, and two Server 2008 MCTS Certifications. I purchased Thursday the TechNet subscription (standard) in hopes it will assist me in my studies. While going through the resources given for the standard sub, I am starting to question if this can really help me. I know the subscription has a 30-day guarantee, so I am looking through deeper of the resources and reaching out to the forums for opinions on my decision. Maybe I am not seeing something I should be that can and will assist me in my learning.

Microsoft E-Learning collections provides online training that helps you stay up-to-date on the latest Microsoft technologies, help you prepare for certifications, or deploy Microsoft software. This benefit has been improved to give you more selection and variety to help you get the most out of your training. Microsoft E-Learning collections may contain 10 courses with 20 hours of instruction.

You will get access to a variety of courses ranging from planning, implementation, and support. Microsoft E-Learning collections is only available in English.

No, you've purchased a TechNet subscription for the wrong reason.  It is not designed to teach you how to use Microsoft products or assist you with gaining certification, it's designed to provide you with the tools required to evaluate, test and troubleshoot Microsoft software for desktop environments.

Yes you do get some free E-Learning courses as highlighted by nate56 however it would be far cheaper to purchase courses outright.
