Start Windows Phone Performance Analysis disabled RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have downloaded the mango developer tools in order to try and do some memory usage testing.  Unfortunately, the Start Windows Phone Performance Analysis many command is disabled.

Is this because I am trying to do this with a 7.0 project?  If so, can I update it to 7.1, do my performance testing and then downgrade it to 7.0?

  • Did you read the Release Notes?
Only profiling of apps that target Windows Phone OS 7.1 on Windows Phone OS 7.1 devices and emulator is supported.

  • I rewrote the app in 7.1 and i can now profile the app.

You really don't need to rewrite the application in 7.1. You can convert your 7.0 application to 7.1 - This feature is provided in Windows Phone Tools.
Go to Solution Explorer and Right click on the Project Node, it will display the option for upgrade - 'Upgrade to Windows Phone 7.1.'

  • I am having the same problem. I am trying to anylize one of my current apps in the marketplace and wanted to practice using the ayalysis tool. Is this due to the fact that my app was written as a 7.0 app?  Or do i need to open it during a break point?

  • HA! Thanks Kedar! That was soooo much easier =p  I did have problems using the performance tracker though, the webservice i use for the app caused this error.

Warning 1 Custom tool warning: Cannot import wsdl:binding
Detail: The required WSDL extension element 'binding' from namespace 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/' was not handled.
    XPath to Error Source: //wsdl:definitions[@targetNamespace='http://www.webservicex.net/']/wsdl:binding[@name='BarCodeHttpGet'] C:\Users\Lance_School\Desktop\My Apps\Barcode Genie PreMap\Barcode Genie\Barcode Genie\Service References\GenericBarcode\Reference.svcmap 1 1 Barcode Genie

    Does anyone recognize this error?
