Access to IAudioMeterInformation

    Question

  • Hi

    According to MSDN, IAudioMeterInformation is available from Store Apps and "The client obtains a reference to the IAudioMeterInformation interface on an endpoint object by calling the IMMDevice::Activate method". But IMMDevice is available only from desktop apps. So how get reference to this object?

  • You can get the underlying audio endpoint but you must use the WinRT APIs to access the device.

    Platform::String^ id = Windows::Media::Devices::MediaDevice::GetDefaultAudioCaptureId(Windows::Media::Devices::AudioDeviceRole::Console );

    Microsoft::WRL::ComPtr<IAudioClient> pAudioClient = NULL;

    I hope this helps,

    James
