Windows 2012 multiple IP in NIC resolve in different order than 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an application on a Windows 2012, and the behavior of the ip/port binding on Windows Server 2008 is different from Windows Server 2012. I have three IP addresses configured on a NIC, and respectivelly. When I start my application Windows Server 2008 (it listen to the port 9088), it binds to, but if I have the same setup on Windows Server 2012 it binds to As the application is exactly the same, I wonder that Windows 2012 resolves differently the IP address when you bind a port. It causing me a issue as when I try to connect to the application by the host name it tries to connect to and it fails.

Can anyone help me figure out if it changed in Windows Server 2012?
