  • Hi everyone,

I'm trying to set up my kinect v2.

    configuration: CPU AMD Phenom II x4 810; MB ASUS M4A78T-E; GPU Ati Radeon HD3300 (1Gb); RAM OCZ 3Gb 1600Mhz; USB 3.0 (on PCI-E) Renesas D720200; HD WD 2Tb 7200rpm.

In the following line there is a link to a screenshot that shows Kinect Configuration Verifier, Device Manager and dxdiag:

    http://postimg.org/image/uohnac09b/12a8022c/

    • Configuration Verifier tells that there is no directx11 capable gpu installed, even if directx11 is properly working (as You can see in dxdiag window)

    • Configuration Verifier also tells that there aren't usb 3.0 supported devices, but I bought Renesas D720200 because it is mentioned in the Confirmed List of USB 3.0 PCI-E cards (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/bb379e8b-4258-40d6-92e4-56dd95d7b0bb/confirmed-list-of-usb-30-pcie-cardslaptopsconfigurations-which-work-for-kinect-v2-during?forum=kinectv2sdk)

Do you know how to make it works?

As an alternative, which motherboard would You like to suggest me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Enrico

  • ATi HD3300 integrated in AMD 790GX chipset indeed is not Direct3D11 compatible chip. DxDiag shows installed DirectX runtime not capabilities of present hardware.

As for NEC/Renesas D720200 being declared as unsupported - you can ignore that (for me it also shows that message with D720202) if color / depth streams work (last check of verifier).

do You think that Asus Geforce GTX750Ti OC edition (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/STRIXGTX750TIOC2GD5/) will be done for that?

  • That Maxwell chip should be more than enough for Kinect V2 needs.
