    We have a SSRS Report. We created two datasources to use a connection string set by a database. One datasource sets the hidden parameter. It does not work when set the connection string based on this hidden parameter.

    Are you doing this with a shared data soruce?  Apparently it doesn't work with Shared Data sources, you need to have an embedded data source in the report to be able to modify it.  See this blog post for a walkthroguh:
